Do Not Fold, Spindle or Mutilate

On ECAF, a New Comic, and Live Drawing

Do Not Fold, Spindle or Mutilate

Just a quick one today to say that I’ll be tabling at Edinburgh Comic Art Fair this Saturday (18th November).

I’ll be there from 11am - 4pm selling and signing comics if you’re nearby and fancy stopping by to say hello.

It’s free to attend and has a great selection of local artists. More information here.

More nerve-wrackingly, I’ve agreed to take part in something called a Drawing Rhapsody. Myself and the incredible Fran Morton will be doing some live drawing along to music. We’ve each picked three songs that’ll play as we draw. We’ll then do a quick Q&A after. It’s been a while since I’ve drawn in front of people. In a word: gulp.

I wanted to have something new for the table so I’ve made a 32 page collection of my non-fiction comics published by The Nib.

The featured comic is I’m a Luddite (and So Can You!) but it also includes Mickey the Minstrel (about the racist origins of Disney characters), Items of Questionable Provenance (about the stolen artefacts displayed in the British Museum), and Politics in Sport (about… well, about politics in sport).

I’ve kept the print-run extremely limited. Just 50 numbered and signed copies. If you can’t make it to ECAF, you’ll be able to buy any unsold copies from my online store.

A page from I’m a Luddite

I’ll also have copies of Suzanne: The Jazz Age Goddess of Tennis (as featured in El Pais and The Leither), the last few remaining copies of Solipsistic Pop, and my The Bear print.

As a special bonus, I’ll also have some copies of Fantastic Futures - an EC style pulp sci-fi homage written by Alan Trotter (who has the best website ever) as part of a special promo comic for his superb book Muscle. I’ll be giving copies of this eight page delight away for free with every purchase. I’ll also do this with online orders where possible.

That’s everything for now I think!
